On April 23, the Kherson Institute of MAUP hosted a training session on “Pre-Medical Aid”, conducted by Artem Zhuk, a serviceman, war veteran, and instructor at the Civil Readiness Center of the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation.
The training is a practical course for civilians and military personnel, aimed at mastering basic life-saving skills before the arrival of medical professionals.
Students of the institute learned how to act in emergency situations to preserve their own lives and the lives of others. They practiced using tourniquets and applying hemostatic techniques.
Key topics of the training included:
Safety assessment and action algorithms in critical situations (M.A.R.C.H.)
Stopping life-threatening bleeding: tourniquets, wound packing, pressure bandages
Providing aid for injuries, burns, and amputations
Evacuation of the wounded
