Creative Thinking as One of the Key Soft Skills for a Modern Manager

<p data-start=Almost everyone, sooner or later, encounters situations with a high degree of uncertainty, where there is no clear “right” or “wrong” solution, yet decisions must be made and actions taken. It is precisely in these moments—whether we realize it or not—that creative thinking comes to the rescue.

Creativity is the ability to generate and discover new, original ideas that deviate from conventional patterns of thinking, to successfully solve tasks in unconventional ways, and to address problems that arise within static systems. It involves seeing problems from a different perspective and finding unique solutions to fulfill professional functions. Creative thinking is revolutionary and imaginative, yet constructive in nature.

Under the guidance of L.M. Nazarenko, a lecturer in the Department of Management and Economics at Kherson Institute, second-year full-time students of the “Management” program completed an online course titled “Creative Thinking” with a duration of 15 hours and 40 minutes, equivalent to 0.53 ECTS credits, and received certificates.

This course helped students further develop and maintain their own creativity through understanding the principles of creative thinking and practicing regular exercises.
